KT Recycling Selects Macon for New Facility

Macon, GA - The specialty steel recycler, KT Recycling, has purchased 49 acres on Jeffersonville Road with plans to construct two buildings: a 1,300 sf office building and 850 sf truck shed. The family owned company based in Tampa, FL, has been in business since 2001. Most of their work at the Macon facility will consist of offloading material outside, sorting and shredding, then shipping off to buyers in other locations. This new facility will handle ferrous scrap, primarily from demolition firms in the area. KT Recycling plans to hire 15 employees and invest $1 million.

Yen Wu, Vice President of KT Recycling, stated, "We chose Macon because it is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the state, and as the ‘Heart of Georgia’ we believe it offers significant growth opportunities."
Keith Rollins, a local commercial real estate broker, represented the Jeffersonville Road property owners in the transaction and assisted KT Recycling with their relocation. According to Rollins, “the main draw of this site was a former rail spur which comes into the property from the CSX railroad line, the accessibility to the interstate system, and Macon’s Central location.”
