Macon and Bibb County’s School System serves pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade students. The school system is managed by an elected Bibb County Board of Education and an appointed Superintendent of Schools. The Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and is held at 484 Mulberry Street in downtown Macon. Superintendent Sharon Patterson has more than 30 years of leadership experience in public education as a teacher, principal and system administrator. Patterson was selected as Georgia’s 2006 Superintendent of the year.
