Bibb County’s School System, managed by an elected Bibb County Board of Education and an appointed Superintendent of Schools, serves pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade students. Superintendent Sharon Patterson has more than 30 years of leadership experience in public education as a teacher, principal and system administrator. Patterson was selected as Georgia’s 2006 Superintendent of the Year and was one of the top four finalists for National Superintendent of the Year. Bibb County’s School System has 14 Title 1 Distinguished Schools, 2 National Schools of Character, and 3 Magnet Elementary Schools.
