Industry Week magazine rated the Macon area workforce as the 21st Most Productive in the nation. The study looked at the value of product produced by Macon manufacturers, the cost of labor and the cost of doing business in the Macon area.

Inc. magazine recently identified Macon as one of the Top 50 Small Metro Areas in the US.

The Macon Labor Draw Area includes a population of over 390,000 in a 30 mile radius with skills including precision technicians, skilled craftsmen, metal workers, financial and accounting degrees, scientific, call center, and management. There are over 30,000 college/university students in the area plus over 7,000 military spouses at Robins Air Force Base.

Macon has long been recognized as the regional destination for workers from all over Middle Georgia and the excellent transportation network of state highways and interstate roads make the commute an easy one.
